Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are one of the typical coordination polymers which constructed by metal ions/clusters and multitopic organic ligands. Compared with traditional porous materials, MOFs have advantages significant porosity, large specific surface area, adjustable chemical composition, structure tailorability, these unique features make them a promising candidate for controlled drug delivery. This review aims to summarize recent advances in development delivery, particular, focusing on its ability deliver various drugs their release mechanism, as well vivo vitro biological evaluation. Moreover, future research directions clinical treatment also outlined.Although numbers been developed nanocarriers further improvements still needed advance application clinic. For example, circulation mechanism degradation process vivo, efficiency pharmacokinetics evaluation drugs. The present work main focus progress effective delivery examine some challenges applications.

Metal–phenolic networks (MPNs) are a new type of nanomaterial self-assembled by metal ions and polyphenols that have been developed rapidly in recent decades. They widely investigated, the biomedical field, for their environmental friendliness, high quality, good bio-adhesiveness, bio-compatibility, playing crucial role tumor treatment. As most common subclass MPNs family, Fe-based frequently used chemodynamic therapy (CDT) phototherapy (PTT), where they often as nanocoatings to encapsulate drugs, well Fenton reagents photosensitizers improve therapeutic efficiency substantially. In this review, strategies preparing various types first summarized. We highlight advantages under different species polyphenol ligands application treatments. Finally, some current problems challenges MPNs, along with future perspective on applications, discussed.
