Herein is reported a novel as well simple, sensitive, and cost-effective method for determination of boron by time-resolved fluorescence spectrometry in uranium-based nuclear fuels. Boron complexed with fluorescent ligand chromotropic acid, the complex formed measure boron. Since steady-state spectra excess are overlapping, developed emphasizes power time resolution. The signatory decay times employed to derive their decay-associated (DAS) and, thereby, spectroscopically eliminate high background fluorescence. calibration plot has wide linear dynamic range 5–100 ppb r2 better than 0.998. Precision 5% at 10 level 4% 50 (n = 9). detection limit 1.5 ppb, recovery spiked (25 ppb) from uranium samples was 94%. validated analyzing U3O8-based ILCE Standards applied enriched fuel samples. main advantage reduction sample size requirement due sensitivity selectivity. This turn reduces load analytical waste, especially case Additionally, it eliminates need organic solvents/medium.
