Near-infrared (NIR) light serves a key role in many potential applications such as food analysis, biomedical devices, night vision, and so on. As an important component of NIR phosphor-converted light-emitting diodes (pc-LEDs), the adjustment emission peak position spectral width Cr3+-doped phosphors is still considered to be crucial challenge. Herein, two emissions at 740 nm from [Cr1O6] 830 [Cr2O4] were realized broaden band Al2.26Ge0.74O4.87:Cr3+ (AGO:Cr3+) phosphor. Moreover, with increasing concentration, crystal field strength decreases energy transfer enhanced. The originating gradually becomes dominant, resulting red shift broadening. optimized AGO:0.7% Cr3+ phosphor shows remarkable thermal stability, which integrated intensity 373 K keeps 86% initial 298 K. Under 405 excitation, internal quantum efficiency could reach 70% external was measured 23%. application vision can implemented based on AGO:Cr3+-fabricated pc-LED. This work achieves simultaneous modulation luminescence color by controlling provides feasible strategy for adjustment.

With the development of white light-emitting diode (LED) technology, near-infrared (NIR) phosphor-converted (pc) LED is becoming a new emerging light source. However, due to lack long wavelength components phosphors, application NIR pc-LED restricted. In this work, continuous ultra-broadband emission without gap in 850–950 nm region has been realized Mg4Nb2O9 (MNO):Cr3+, Yb3+ phosphor. Meanwhile, when compared MNO:Cr3+, an improved internal quantum efficiency (from 55.4% 72.6%) and thermal stability 39% 63% at 100 °C) have obtained for Yb3+, which attributed combined effect efficient energy transfer from Cr3+ its nearest unique levels Yb3+. The performances fabricated devices by combining with 460 chips were also given, results demonstrate that phosphor may potential practical pc-LED.

Abstract Efficient broadband near‐infrared (NIR)‐emitting phosphors with long‐wavelength emission peaks and high thermal stability are urgently needed as next‐generation smart NIR light sources. However, considerable challenges remain in developing high‐performing phosphors. Herein, a blue LED excitable Bi 1.8 Ga 1.2 SbO 7 : Cr 3+ (BGS: ) phosphor broad band long peak is designed synthesized. Further, strategy of neighboring‐cation substitution engineering proposed to improve the efficiency phosphor. The optimal 0.02Cr , 0.8In can generate an 700–1300 nm range full‐width at half‐maximum (FWHM) 198 nm. This has external quantum (EQE) 31.3% good 56.1% 423 K. A fabricated NIR‐LED device achieve output power 125.55 mW 300 mA photoelectric 17.45% 20 mA, demonstrating its application potential for night vision, bioimaging nondestructive detection. study offers new thoughts fulfill outstanding luminescent performances.
