Published: March 24, 2025

Abstract This review examines the application potential of hybrid MOF-COF structures in fabricating advanced membranes for gas separation. demonstrate exceptional separation performance, surpassing Robeson upper bound several mixtures, including H 2 /CH 4 , CO /N and O . Key findings indicate that thin-film exhibit remarkable selectivity permeability, with some hybrids achieving permeance values exceeding 1,000,000 GPU ideal factors over 30. Additionally, mixed matrix (MMMs) containing show combining mechanical robustness high efficiency, despite challenges uniform dispersion. Future research should prioritize scaling up production methods, enhancing stability thin films, improving polymer-hybrid compatibility MMMs. Experimental validation theoretical predictions is essential to address discrepancies unlock full these materials. are poised revolutionize technologies offer promising directions broader applications, catalysis energy storage.

The casting method was used to obtain membranes from cellulose acetate (CA) with different contents (0.1; 0.4; 0.8 wt%) of graphene oxide (GO). FESEM and FT-IR were evaluate the membrane structure. contact angle also examined. Congo red efficiency. CA/GO decreased 55.47˚ 38.16˚ (0.4 wt% GO), which indicates good dispersion GO in CA matrix. showed less irreversible fouling, that reversible fouling predominated over all membranes. Increasing porosity, pore size hydrophilicity results higher permeability.
