Aryl-piperidine polymers are preferred for anion exchange membranes (AEMs) due to their excellent designability and alkaline resistance stability. In the present work, a poly(diphenyl sulfide piperidine) polymer backbone, distinct from conventional poly(biphenyl piperidine), is synthesized via superacid-catalyzed reaction. Subsequently, series of AEMs (PPSP-xPip) achieved by grafting cationic groups with long flexible alkyl chains onto main chain. All demonstrate good membrane-forming ability toughness elongation at break ranging 16.8 34.5%. The OH– conductivity them in range 88.4–117.1 mS cm–1 80 °C, attributed high water uptake favorable microphase separation structure. representative PPSP-35Pip membrane exhibits stability 89% retention ratio 2 M NaOH after 520 h °C. current density its electrolyzer cell reaches 0.619 A cm–2 electrolyte 2.0 V. After endurance testing, maintains voltage fluctuation only 1.07%.
