Dibenzopyrrocoline alkaloids, found in lauraceous and hernandiaceous plants, have been studied since the 1950s. The absolute configuration of these including cryptaustoline, has a topic debate due to conflicting studies. Having our laboratory some authentic samples dibenzopyrrocoline-type Cryptocarya we decided reinvestigate their using modern spectroscopic techniques along with TDDFT calculations. NMR reinvestigation sample cryptowolinol led us revise its relative ML-J-DP4 DP4+ analyses. Moreover, all dibenzopyrrocoline alkaloids reported date benefitted from complete re-evaluation based on comparison TDDFT-SR TDDFT-ECD predictions leading unified configuration. At last, this patrimonial unveiled historical corresponding heretofore unpublished alkaloid, which named isocryptaustoline. reisolation molecule total alkaloid extract oubatchensis makes it genuine natural product.
