Abstract The development of high energy/power density and long lifespan device is always the frontier direction attracts great research attention in energy storage fields. Zinc‐ion capacitors (ZICs), as an integration zinc‐ion batteries supercapacitors, have been widely regarded one viable future options for storage, owing to their variable system assembly method potential performance improvement. However, ZICs still locate at initial stage until now, how construct suitable systems different condition challenging. Herein, recent advance rational design reviewed order related theory including compatible principle paradigm. It starts with a systematically summary fundamental well motivation. Then, electrode materials are classified into capacitor‐type battery‐type based on mechanism, strategies progress these two‐type candidates comprehensively discussed, aiming reveal inherent relationship between devices component architecture materials. Beyond that, perspectives this emerging field also given, expecting guide construction high‐performance practical applications boost its development.

Abstract Plastic pollution poses a significant threat to the global health and ecosystem. Repurposing plastic wastes for sustainable energy is promising approach mitigate problem. In this study, waste‐derived activated carbon (PWC) synthesized from nonrecyclable waste used as cathode material in lithium–selenium (Li–Se) batteries zinc‐ion hybrid supercapacitors (ZHCs). Increasing activation temperature (500–800 °C) enhances specific surface area pore volume tailors porous structure of PWC toward larger sizes. at lower temperatures with potassium hydroxide (KOH) shows better performance Se host Li–Se due their microporous effective confinement. based on 600 °C (PWC600/Se) delivers reversible discharge capacity 655.2 mAh g −1 0.1 C over 150 cycles. 800 (PWC800) possesses largest 2328.2 m 2 thus fabricate electrodes ZHCs. The developed PWC800‐ZHC high density 97 Wh kg 1600 W power excellent cycle stability only 8% capacitance decay after 5000 cycles 1.0 A .

High power sodium energy generation devices, such as symmetric and hybrid supercapacitors, have great potential for cheap green post-lithium applications.However, it is imperative to obtain porous structures with large surfaces optimized pore size enhance the electrode sorption property ensure fast electrochemical reactions.In this work, we investigated influence of KOH carbon activation conditions on morphology, porosity, parameters in aqueous electrolytes.Our activated had a maximum surface area 1556 m 2 /g notably high mesopore content, varying from 5 19 % total area.Electrochemical are not only influenced by number pores, but also optimal ratio meso micro pores.It shown that case sodium-based electrolytes, mesopores provide good electrode-electrolyte contact, capacity mainly provided micropores.High operating values electrolytes (specific about 78 F/g, density 11
