Due to the increasing global demand for feed protein, microbial protein has great potential of being able sustainably. However, application in animal cultivation industry is still limited by its high cost and availability on scale. From viewpoint industrial production, it vital specify crucial processes components further technical exploration process optimization. This article presents state-of-the-art technologies non-protein nitrogen (NPN) assimilation production. Nitrogen sources are one main factors media used large-scale fermentation. Therefore, available NPN synthesis, utilization mechanisms, fermentation corresponding strain reviewed this paper. Especially, random mutagenesis adaptive laboratory evolution (ALE) approach combined with (ultra-) throughput screening provided impetus increase yield. Despite underlying technological advances production extensive research development efforts required before commercial feed.

Biosurfactants are considered to be desirable alternatives synthetic surfactants. Sophorolipids produced by nonpathogenic yeast strains one of the main types glycolipid biosurfactants and have various applications. In this work, aqueous phase behavior glycolipid-based biosurfactant sophorolipids (SL) was investigated using polarized microscopy, small-angle X-ray diffraction (SAXS), nuclear magnetic deuterium spectroscopy (2H NMR), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), freeze-etched (FF-TEM), dynamic light scattering (DLS). The binary diagram SL/H2O system constructed, a liquid crystalline cubic constructed micelles observed. A micellar at low concentrations (<50 wt %) found. As concentration increases, after transition phase, it is strictly up 70 %. an isotropic, highly viscous crystal composed three-dimensionally ordered arrangements spherical micelles, which arranged in simple (CubI/Pm3m) or body-centered (CubI/Im3m). rheological properties different temperatures were studied. viscoelastic, viscosity tends decrease uniformly with increasing (15-90 °C) then returns its original state cooling, indicating that possesses satisfactory reversibility high temperature. results expected instructive for application sophorolipids.

Biosurfactants account for about 12% of the global value surfactant market, which is currently dominated by synthetic surfactants obtained from fossil sources. Yet, production biosurfactants renewable feedstock bound to increase, driven increasing pressure both society and governments chemistry-based industries become more ecofriendly economically sustainable. A photo-chemical oxidation process reported here, yielding new urban biowaste in water that perform as a solvent terminal oxidant reagent at room temperature without addition conventional oxidants catalysts. Products with 200–500 kDa molecular weight are obtained. They lower surface tension down 34 mN/m 0.5–2 g/L concentration. The estimated cost rather low (0.1–1.5 EUR/kg), competitive but much than best-performing bacterial surfactants. For implementation industrial level, results suggest present work may not reach performance level capable lowering 28 mN/m. produced have greater chance being marketed on large scales.
