Abstract A new coordination polymer based on Cu(II) and pyrazinecarboxylic acid (pycaH), namely [Cu(pyca) 2 ] n ( 1β ), has been obtained by a two‐step synthesis structurally characterized single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction analysis. In the crystal, planar monomeric units are extended into 2D structure due to of oxygen atom carboxylic group two adjacent in apical positions resulting square‐bipyramidal surrounding copper atom. Compound represents novel supramolecular isomer compared another one documented Cambridge Structural Database under refcodes BEYPUQ 1α where same linked 1D polymer. Hirschfeld surface analysis is performed gain additional insight interactions responsible for crystal packing both isomers. The examination fingerprint plots elucidated most significant intermolecular involved stabilization network from C─H…O, C─H…N, C─H…C interactions. DFT calculations lattice energies demonstrate higher degree stability relative .
