There is an interactive effect between ammonium perchlorate (AP) and aluminum (Al) powder during the combustion process of composite solid propellants, but mechanism this still lacking. Using quantum chemical methods, we investigated from a molecular perspective. The interaction Al AP was analyzed by comparing bond changes atoms reaction Al/AP system unimolecular thermal decomposition system. results show that alter decomposition, significantly decreasing activation energy at high temperature increasing low temperature.
