Photoelectrochemical (PEC) technology in marine engineering holds significant importance due to its potential address various challenges the environment. Currently, PEC-type applications offer numerous benefits, including sustainable energy generation, water desalination and treatment, photodetection, communication. Finding novel efficient photoresponse semiconductors is of great significance for development techniques space. Bismuth-based semiconductor materials possess suitable tunable bandgap structures, high carrier mobility, low toxicity, strong oxidation capacity, which gives them engineering. In this paper, structure properties bismuth binary mixed-anion have been reviewed. Meanwhile, recent progress synthetic approaches were discussed from point view application prospects. Finally, issues photodetection hydrogen generation are analyzed. Thus, perspective will not only stimulate further investigation but also help related practitioners understand compounds.
