Herein,
we
present
the
synthesis
and
characterization
of
a
series
isostructural
lanthanide(III)
compounds
with
N-(4-carboxyphenyl)oxamic
acid
(H3pcpa)
ligand
general
formula
as
{[Ln2(Hpcpa)3(H2O)5]}n
[Ln
=
Dy(III)
1,
Ho(III)
2,
Er(III)
3].
The
structure
3
consists
neutral
zig–zag
chains
ions,
Hpcpa2–
ligands
acting
bridges
in
bidentate/monodentate
coordination
mode
five
water
molecules
achieving
eight-coordination
around
two
ions
within
repeating
bis(carboxylate)-bridged
dinuclear
units
along
chain.
magnetic
magnetocaloric
properties
were
studied
for
1–3.
Compound
1
presents
field-induced
slow
relaxation
magnetization
“reciprocating
thermal
behavior”
below
5
K
H
0.25
T,
while
2
shows
maxima
entropy
from
up
to
6
ΔH
>
T.

single-crystal
structures
show
that
these
compounds
crystallise
orthorhombic

space
group
form
3D
anionic
lattices
with
triangular
cavities.

slow
relaxation

magnetisation
under
an
applied

field.
