Abstract The search for new metal‐organic compounds as candidates quantum information processing technologies is in the spotlight. Several metal ions and organic linkers have been used to obtain such compounds. Herein, we describe synthesis, crystal structures, cryomagnetic properties of two air‐stable isostructural neodymium(III) europium(III) one‐dimensional (1D) coordination polymers formula [Nd(Hmpa) 3 (DMSO) 2 ] n ( 1 ) [Eu(Hmpa) [Hmpa= N ‐(4‐methylphenyl)oxamate, DMSO=dimethylsulfoxide]. These complexes were prepared by reacting ‐Bu 4 N(Hmpa) proligand [ + =tetra‐ ‐butylammonium] correspondent LnCl ⋅ 6H O salt (Ln=Nd or Eu) open air mild conditions. structures reveal Ln 3+ ion surrounded DMSO molecules three oxamate ligands, one them connecting adjacent mononuclear entities through carboxylate bridges featuring a homometallic chain, while other establishing double N−H hydrogen bonds among give resultant supramolecular 2D network. Cryomagnetic measurements static (dc) dynamic current (ac) regimes that behaves field‐induced single‐molecule magnet below 8.8 K. A photoluminescence study shows Hmpa ligands efficiently sensitize luminescence Eu complex visible region solid state at room temperature.

Herein, we present the synthesis and characterization of a series isostructural lanthanide(III) compounds with N-(4-carboxyphenyl)oxamic acid (H3pcpa) ligand general formula as {[Ln2(Hpcpa)3(H2O)5]}n [Ln = Dy(III) 1, Ho(III) 2, Er(III) 3]. The structure 3 consists neutral zig–zag chains ions, Hpcpa2– ligands acting bridges in bidentate/monodentate coordination mode five water molecules achieving eight-coordination around two ions within repeating bis(carboxylate)-bridged dinuclear units along chain. magnetic magnetocaloric properties were studied for 1–3. Compound 1 presents field-induced slow relaxation magnetization “reciprocating thermal behavior” below 5 K H 0.25 T, while 2 shows maxima entropy from up to 6 ΔH > T.

A ditopic ligand (H2L1), containing picolinate subunits segmented by ethynylene bridges, has been used in the synthesis of a series isostructural coordination polymers, formulated as [(CH3)2NH2][Ln(L1)2]·H2O·CH3COOH, where Ln = Eu (1), Gd (2), Tb (3), Dy (4) and Ho (5). The single-crystal structures show that these compounds crystallise orthorhombic Pna21 space group form 3D anionic lattices with triangular cavities. AC magnetic susceptibility measurements Gd, derivatives (2–4) present slow relaxation their magnetisation under an applied DC field. detailed study 2 4 shows they relax following direct Orbach mechanisms conditions. derivative retains this behaviour absence external field, relaxing via quantum tunnelling mechanisms. Compound is one very few reported Gd(III) showing its magnetisation.

In this work, we describe the synthesis, crystal structures and magnetic properties of four air-stable mononuclear lanthanide(III) complexes with N-(2,4,6-trimethylphenyl)oxamate (Htmpa) formula: n-Bu4N[Nd(Htmpa)4(H2O)]·4H2O (1), n-Bu4N[Gd(Htmpa)4(H2O)]·3DMSO·2H2O (2), n-Bu4N[Tb(Htmpa)4(H2O)]·3DMSO·1H2O (3) n-Bu4N[Dy(Htmpa)4(H2O)]·3DMSO·2H2O (4) (n-Bu4N+ = n-tetrabutylammonium; DMSO dimethylsulfoxide). Their reveal occurrence calixarene-type monoanionic species containing all-cis-disposed Htmpa ligands one water molecule coordinated respective LnIII ion (Ln Nd, Gd, Tb Dy), featuring a nine-coordinated environment muffin (MFF-9) (1) or spherical-capped square antiprism (CSAPR-9) (2–4) geometry. The major difference between their is related to nature crystallization solvent molecules, either both (2–4). intermolecular hydrogen bonds among self-complementary in all compounds mediated 2 D supramolecular network solid state. Direct-current (dc) for 1–4 show typical behavior ground state terms ions [4I9/2 (Nd); 8S7/2(Gd), 7F6 (Tb), 6H15/2 (Dy)]. Alternating-current (ac) measurements presence slow relaxation without dc field only 4. contrast, field-induced was found 1, 3.
