People generate hydroxyl radicals (OH) in the presence of ozone via ozonolysis skin-emitted alkenes. In this study, we found that application personal care products (PCPs) including fragrances and body lotions suppresses human oxidation field. Body lotion hampers generation 6-methyl-5-hepten-2-one, a key OH precursor, while many volatile ingredients PCPs enhance loss gas phase. Although contain terpenes capable generating through ozonolysis, much larger amount ethanol solvent acts as large sink. We combined multiphase chemical kinetic model computational fluid dynamics to demonstrate how concentrations reactive components develop indoor environment. These findings have implications for chemistry occupied spaces health.
