One of the most pressing challenges facing society today is rising prevalence physical and cognitive frailty. This geriatric condition makes older adults more vulnerable to disability, illness, a heightened risk mortality. In this scenario, Parkinson’s disease (PD) frailty, which share several common characteristics, are becoming increasingly prevalent worldwide, underscoring urgent need for innovative strategies. Nutraceuticals naturally occurring bioactive compounds contained in foods, offering health benefits over above essential nutrition. By examining literature from past decade, review highlights how nutraceuticals can act as complementary therapies, addressing key processes, such oxidative stress, inflammation, neuroprotection. Notably, antioxidant action appears particularly beneficial regard PD For instance, antioxidant-rich may mitigate damage linked levodopa therapy PD, potentially reducing side effects enhancing treatment sustainability. Similarly, amplify activity, muscle function, health, resilience, thereby proposes holistic approach integrating with exercise, pharmacotherapy, lifestyle adjustments. It promises transform management ARD, prolong life, improve quality life well-being people.

A new subclass of nutraceuticals, called immunoceuticals, is dedicated to immunological regulation. Although yeast-derived β-1,3/1,6-D-glucan shows promise as an immunoceutical candidate, further studies are needed define its precise immune-enhancing processes and standardize use. Following methotrexate (MTX)-induced immunosuppression in rats, we evaluated the immunomodulatory efficacy a highly pure standardized sample (YBG) RAW 264.7 macrophages. In vitro vivo models, YBG demonstrated remarkable effects, such repair immune organ damage, elevation blood cytokine levels, enhanced phagocytosis nitric oxide production cells. These results consistent with established immunostimulatory properties β-glucan. It noteworthy that this research indicates potential nutraceutical, it among first demonstrate augmentation setting produced by MTX. Based on these observations, investigation warranted, particularly given emerge combination mitigate reduce risk infection rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients receiving long-term MTX therapy.
