Abstract The access to bench‐stable organometallic compounds unfolds new chemical space for medicinal and material sciences. In particular, stable organoruthenium with constitutional stereoisomeric forms subtle regulation of electrochemiluminescence are intriguing challenging. Here, coordination polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons on (2‐phenylpyridine) 2 (CO) Ru complex allows bis‐polyaryl phenylpyridine (BPP) Ruthenium through C─H activation strategy coupling reactions installation the functionalities steric electronic purposes. photoluminescence BPP complexes affected by actual inherent properties. anthracene derivatized ( BPP‐Ant ) shows best ECL performance reveals an enormous quantum efficiency 1.6‐fold higher than golden standard Ru(bpy) 3 2+ . unprecedentedly high is due compromise between structural conjugation molecular rigidity from providing a providential energy gap that facilitated feasibility electron transfer favored radiative release experimentally DFT calculations. Moreover, PL spooling spectroscopies used track link multiple emission peaks at 445, 645, 845 nm different emissive species. These discoveries will add member efficient ruthenium family bring more potentials.
