This work focuses on the preparation and application of silver nanoparticles/organophilic clay/polyethylene glycol for catalytic reduction contaminants methylene blue (MB) 4-nitrophenol (4-NP) in a simple binary system. Algerian clay was subjected to series treatments including acid treatment, ion exchange with surfactant hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (HTABr), immobilization polyethylene polymer, finally dispersion AgNPs. The molecular weight varied (100, 200, 4000) study its effect stabilization nanoparticles (AgNPs) activity resulting samples. results showed that catalyst highest had AgNP content. Catalyst mass, NaBH4 concentration, type were shown have significant influence conversion rate constant. material nanoparticle content identified as optimal both pollutants. measured constants 164 × 10−4 s−1 25 s−1, respectively. MB 4-NP system high selectivity dye, 64 9 4-NP, reuse best via dye four cycles good without loss performance.
