Deep eutectic solvents (DESs) have emerged as promising green liquid lubricants for solving tribological problems due to their economic and excellent physicochemical lubrication properties. However, a trace amount of water would affect structure, properties, The effect on the properties DES is still unclear needs further investigate. Herein, we carried out systematic investigation into chemical rheological performance DES-water (DES-W) binary systems constructed by combining with varying contents water. results revealed that low levels in had minimal impact its structure but affected fluidity viscosity. Frictional experiments demonstrated DES-W displayed reduced coefficient friction from 0.094 0.025 compared pure DESs manifested outstanding antiwear under high-load condition. This was attributed formation hydration layers, adsorption tribochemical films at tribointerface through reactions. Our findings not only foster design development lubricating materials also expand engineering applications solve wear-related mechanical failures practical application.
