We report on a chemical way to tune the efficiency of second harmonic generation (SHG) by aminothiophene-based molecular crystals (MCs) fixed noncentrosymmetric crystal structure. Through multistep synthesis three substituted pyrrolo[1,2-a]thieno[3,2-e]pyrimidines, we design set MCs similar Pna21 space group, providing stable (over 30 min continuous generation) SHG in controlled visible spectral range. Substitution donor methyl component MC with neutral hydrogen and acceptor chlorine leads an approximately 400-fold increase due 70% growth MC's hyperpolarizability. The reported strategy, thereby, opens their efficiency, being competitive commercial nonlinear optical crystals.
