The marine environment has undergone transformations and degradations that are, in many cases, irreversible. Knowing valuing this is the first step conservation process. We aimed to analyse initial perception of Brazilian students from secondary school level about environments their relationship with daily lives. instrument used collect data was a questionnaire three open questions. answers were grouped by similarity, then categories. Most unable relate lives environment, most cited justification being physical distance sea. When asked knowledge, mentioned subjects related geography, while only few ocean biodiversity. Another notable aspect prevalence an anthropocentric worldview, which seen as collection natural resources are available for human use. To reverse scenario, we advocate teaching practices through Environmental Education expand students' knowledge ecosystems, preservation, impact on people's quality life, even those who live far coastal areas.

Ocean literacy (OL) is crucial in sustainably maintaining and protecting the oceans. The main objective of this research to present bibliometric data on articles related OL Indonesia published journals indexed SINTA database between 2014 October 2023. Articles collected from 26 within scope were bibliometrically analyzed based five categories: 1) number each year, 2) most frequently used keywords, 3) type used, 4) universities or institutions that conduct research, 5) publish articles. Bibliometric analysis shows regarding studies 2021 (8 articles). keywords are ocean literacy, environmental education. types often quantitative (10 articles) qualitative (9 university with Universitas Maritim Raja Ali Haji (UMRAH) This study presents a perspective can be as reference for researchers, educators, parties involved preserving future.
