Purpose This study aims to identify and analyse the gender-specific challenges encountered by internally displaced women (IDWs) in developing countries, focusing on Bangladesh within distinctive backdrop of COVID-19 pandemic. Furthermore, paper recommends effective strategies address overcome these challenges. Design/methodology/approach research, conducted PRISMA guidelines, investigated socio-economic pandemic for IDWs through a comprehensive analysis diverse sources. These sources encompassed quantitative qualitative studies, organisational reports, publications from UN agencies, International Organisation Migration, Labour Organisation, World Health case studies newspaper articles. Findings research sheds light impact crisis IDWs, encompassing aspects such as safety, shelter, livelihood, household responsibilities, health support, external aid, domestic violence childcare facilities. In addition, it emphasises pivotal contributions government organisations (GOs) non-governmental (NGOs) ensuring well-being survival IDWs. Migration represents a major transformation of the lives those involved and has been transformative societies economies globally. Yet models sustainability transformations do not effectively incorporate movement populations. Abstract Globally, populations are increasingly located in areas at high risk of frequent, extreme weather events. Some exposed have the ability to move safer places; others unable get out harm’s way. The climate risks facing these involuntary immobile not often addressed by local and national authorities, despite increasing recognition international development agencies humanitarian actors. Here we discuss when how events lead immobility considering influence political, socioeconomic, environmental factors. Addressing barriers policy disaster planning, early warning systems anticipatory action could be tailored support involuntarily communities. While planning should data-informed, lack appropriate data quality limit governments institutions from taking action.
