Abstract
Background
Heart
failure
and
diabetes
are
comorbidities
that
disproportionately
contribute
to
high
morbidity
mortality
among
Blacks.
Further
compounding
the
racial
ethnic
disparities
in
COVID-19
health
outcomes,
Blacks
with
cardiometabolic
diseases
at
risk
of
experiencing
serious
complications
or
from
COVID-19.
This
study
aimed
assess
how
heart
navigated
chronic
care
management
during
pandemic.
Methods
A
mixed
methods
including
in-depth
interviews
surveys
adults
diagnosed
(
n
=
17)
was
conducted

thematic
analysis
approach.
Results
Participants
reported

pandemic
initially
caused
delays

services,
shifts
telemedicine

preferences
