How organizations navigate the complexities of a deglobalizing environment – towards a conceptual model

Purpose This paper aims to review the extant literature in area of deglobalization, particularly focusing on how organizations navigate complexities a deglobalizing environment. Design/methodology/approach A systematic (SLR) was performed domain deglobalization. peer-reviewed article search carried out using Scopus and Web Science databases. total 48 articles met inclusion criteria. Findings The results SLR show five higher-order themes with underpinning categories. derived analysis were modelled into – (a) impact deglobalization firms; (b) organizations’ response environment; (c) role organizational characteristics, resources capabilities; (d) government policies; (e) effect firm performance. findings this work serve as roadmap, indicating multiple avenues for future research which further investigation is required. Practical implications study maps theoretical empirical strategic decisions environment, providing key insights practical reflections business managers top management teams (TMTs) make informed decisions.
