Polar drilling is essential for obtaining ice and bedrock samples, providing critical insights into climate geological history. The reverse circulation method, utilizing a dual-wall drill pipe, presents stable efficient strategy. Nonetheless, the intricate dynamics involving fluids, rock cuttings cores necessitate sophisticated modeling to elucidate underlying mechanism optimize efficiency. To address this, we developed multiphase flow model that accounts non-Newtonian fluid behavior, turbulence, particle dynamics, fluid–structure interactions, enabling thorough assessment of various operational parameters. model's temporal–spatial sensitivity was evaluated, its accuracy confirmed by comparison with three different sets experimental data. A detailed parametric investigation then conducted systematically assess effects parameters, including behavior inlet velocity fluid, rate penetration, dimensions core. simulation results indicate has an non-negligible effect on transport efficiency both An increase in leads faster transport, albeit at cost higher pump pressure. penetration minor influence core transportation but largely affects cutting transportation. More interestingly, larger demonstrate enhanced efficiency, attributed more uniform distribution. Furthermore, diameter plays pivotal role significantly altering whereas length negligible effect. These may have direct applications optimizing polar operations, potentially leading reduced costs, informing future technology advancements.

Multiblade centrifugal fans are widely used in various fields. With the rapid increase fan performance requirements, improving aerodynamic and reducing noise by modifying individual component parameters no longer sufficient to meet demands of actual engineering applications. In this work, a combined reduction scheme was adopted reduce level under different operating conditions while its performance. The three-dimensional unsteady flow acoustic field were calculated simultaneously via direct computational aeroacoustics based on lattice Boltzmann method. Experimental data from test bench semianechoic chamber validate accuracy numerical simulation results. A curved-type outlet collector, nonaxisymmetric inlet nozzle, variable inlet/outlet angle blade designed basis identified sources. Different modified schemes provide varying benefits conditions, but their optimal combination not only reduces also improves experimental results show that total pressure efficiency is significantly improved at same volume rate for both reduced 1.5 1.4 dBA. articulation index maximum 5.2%. This study provides valuable reference design multiblade with wide high efficiency, low noise.
