Recent studies have demonstrated that new reactions can be initiated by the irradiation of organic compounds in atmospheric aqueous phase. In this medium, these photosensitized represent an important, still understudied pathway affecting composition tropospheric matter. work, we investigated photoreactivity vanillic acid (VA) and 2-benzoylbenzoic (A2BB), as relevant proxies for sources triplet excited states (VA* A2BB*). Experiments conducted under various pH conditions revealed different reactivities toward molecular oxygen which is important source singlet with rate constants ktriplet,3O2″ ranging from 6.35 × 108 to 4.31 109 M–1 s–1 VA* A2BB*. The reactivity short-chain carboxylic acids amino acids, are regularly found phase, was also studied. Rate varied less than 107 7.1 s–1, suggesting has considered some cases, competition hydroxyl radical. addition, transformation induced investigated, providing insights into future consideration pathways chemistry models.
