Despite recent advances in technology use for education and training, the approach to pilot training over past several decades has largely remained unchanged. Student pilots complete their actual aircraft, with very few flight hours conducted devices. This study aimed investigate effectiveness of various levels simulator fidelity on ab initio training. Thirty student were invited train using a virtual reality simulator, desktop or device. Performance was evaluated modified Transport Canada Flight Test Guide alongside NASA Task Load Index, Subjective Stress Scale, Simulator Sickness Questionnaire, giving insight into mental workload, stress, experience sickness, respectively. Findings show potential simulators regarding procedural tasks; however, trainees must be aware limitations have concerning aircraft handling tasks.
