Abstract Tobacco waste presents notable environmental challenges, such as soil and water contamination from nicotine other harmful chemicals, compounded by inefficiencies in conventional management. Converting tobacco into biochar offers a promising solution to address these issues. This study reviews the production, properties, applications of derived tobacco, using feedstocks stems, seeds, leaves, fines. It has been observed that stems are most commonly used precursor pyrolysis is frequently employed thermochemical conversion process, with yields ranging 5% 85%, depending on operational variables. Tobacco‐derived exhibits surface areas typically between 2 50 m /g, fixed carbon content 4 63 wt%, ash 12% 51%. applied agriculture, treatment, composting, energy demonstrating its efficiency. also plays an important role pollution remediation. Despite existing research tobacco‐based biochar, gaps remain gasification torrefaction biomass use tobacco‐related wastes like leftover cigarettes The findings this depict dual benefits utilizing for production – addressing disposal challenges while creating valuable material multiple economic advantages.
