The present study investigated whether parents’ and teachers’ evaluations of children’s intellectual investment would predict a change in need for cognition (NFC) over one year. An exploratory look at how are predicted by range factors was also taken. N = 565 third-graders (298 girls; Mage 8.40, SD 0.59) teachers (N 39) were surveyed 2021 2022. parents 452) provided the data 2021. Longitudinal analyzed means latent score models (LCSMs). Changes cognitive engagement differed between children. However, there no effect or assessments on development NFC. assessment negatively related to their initial judgment age; it positively pupils’ fluid intelligence. results implications discussed.

This paper attempts to estimate the relationships between teachers' and parents' expectancies students' achievement in mathematics literacy as measured by matriculation exam scores final marks 12th-grade. Furthermore, it was examined whether these links are mediated self-expectancies their anxiety.
