AbstractA new benzimidazolium salt containing a 2,5-dimethylbenzyl substituent and six N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) silver complexes were prepared. The characterized by NMR, FTIR, LC-MS spectroscopic methods elemental analyses. They are stable in solution for week. antibacterial properties of the Ag(I) against two Gram-positive Gram-negative bacteria investigated. A series of N-heterocyclic carbene (NHC) silver complexes derived from 6-[bis(3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-yl)methyl]-2-pyridylimidazole have been synthesized and characterized by physico-chemical spectroscopic methods, the structures four confirmed X-ray structural analyses. The functionalized NHC is a monodentate ligand in (NHC)AgCl through carbon atom, bridging [C,N,N] tridentate (NHC)2Ag2(BF4)2 (NHC)2Ag2(PF6)2 two pyrazolyl nitrogens to form metallomacrocycle, which head (carbene)– tail (nitrogen) coordination mode atoms observed. Preliminary catalytic tests show that these newly Ag–NHC exhibit excellent activity at low catalyst loading (0.1–1 mol%) aldehyde–amine–alkyne coupling reaction.
