Abstract The use of qualitative research methods is growing among scholars interested in exploring and understanding the distinct context anatomy education. While verbal text‐based like interviews focus groups are frequently used for data collection, education may benefit from including visual such as photovoice or diagramming their collection toolbox. Often conjunction with oral, language‐based methods, aid researchers phenomena which be difficult participants to express. Rich pictures a type method has gained popularity health professions literature. Generated through asking draw detailed representation particular situation, rich can afford deeper insight into participants' perspectives experiences while complex within teaching learning. This article provides four‐part description support application this anatomical sciences by: (1) describing background offering an overview method, (2) explaining how elicitation tool during stimulate reflections responses, (3) two analysis strategies interpreting content created (i.e., grammar systematically analyzing features participant's drawing, gallery walks engaging teams collaborative all study drawings), (4) providing on anatomic science education's studies.
