The Sonic Gathering Place (SGP) is a prototype urban furniture installation that uses sound design to enhance the biophilic effects of plants. It field recordings from four different biomes in South-Eastern Australia mixed with plants are representative those biomes. SGP has circular seating structure comprising integrated planter boxes, each single speaker. Nature-based play through four-speaker array create an immersive audio playback experience, though without masking existing acoustic environment site. This paper focuses, as practice-led research, on process encompasses disciplinary approaches: soundscape design, recording and furniture. Innovatively, it then reports quantitative survey user's experience hones understanding human response design. Measured user-responses SGP, collected smartphone-based questionnaire, were overwhelmingly affirmative including positive change self-reported mood resulting visit SGP.
