This study aimed to investigate the chain mediating roles of anxiety and inhibitory control in relationship between bullying victimization internet addiction among Chinese adolescents, as well moderating effect physical activity. A cross-sectional design was employed, sampling 1,585 adolescents from 5 provinces China during February–March 2024. Data on victimization, addiction, anxiety, control, activity were collected analyzed using a moderated mediation model. The data suggest that is associated with this association also mediated by control. Depression among university students in China represents a critical public health challenge, with emerging evidence suggesting exacerbated risks during the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite prior regional studies, comprehensive national analysis comparing pre-pandemic and pandemic-era prevalence, while accounting for profession-specific stressors, remains lacking. This study aims to quantify depression prevalence across Chinese universities, identify high-risk subgroups, assess pandemic's impact. A systematic search was conducted on PubMed, CNKI, Wang-fang Database, Web of Science. The articles were cross-sectional studies focusing China, clearly defined criteria diagnosing included. Stress, Anxiety, and Depression (SAD) are pervasive mental health issues that have substantial impacts on individual societal well-being. Physical activity is associated with social network site addiction in adolescents, yet the mechanisms remain unclear. This study examines whether anxiety and ego-depletion mediate this relationship.
