ABSTRACT Background Maternal fear of childbirth fluctuates throughout pregnancy. However, no studies have investigated the changing characteristics and influencing factors childbirth. Aims This study aimed to identify trajectory patterns in third‐trimester primiparas examine these patterns. Methods followed STROBE checklist for observational research. A prospective longitudinal design was employed, using Intolerance Uncertainty Scale, Childbirth Self‐Efficacy Inventory Attitudes Questionnaire as primary measures. Data were collected from 226 primiparous women at 28–29 weeks, 32–33 36–37 weeks 39–41 gestation. ABSTRACT Aims To explore the association between body image, fear of childbirth and maternal‐fetal attachment mediating effects among different image profiles. Design A cross‐sectional study. Methods Pregnant women were recruited from obstetric outpatient clinics February 2022 October 2023. Face‐to‐face data collected using validated questionnaires. First, role birth was examined by calculating total scores. Then, latent analysis performed to identify profiles, relative mediation for in profiles attachment. Results This study included 676 pregnant women, most whom their third trimester. Using score, found partially mediate relationship Latent profile revealed three women: positive, moderate negative. positive as reference, with experienced a higher childbirth, resulting lower Notably, effect more pronounced negative Conclusion Body affected directly indirectly through stronger Implications The findings provide evidence on underlying pathways suggest potential intervention targets improve may benefit such interventions. Impact Little is known about pathway women. affects childbirth. These highlight high‐risk populations, which provides insights developing personalised interventions perinatal psychological health.
