Introduction Social interaction is associated with many effects on the psychological level of children such as mental health, self-esteem, and executive functions. Education Outside Classroom (EOtC) describes regular curricular classes/lessons outside school building, often in natural green blue environments. Applied a long-term concept, EOtC has potential to enable promote social interaction. However, empirical studies this topic have been somewhat scant. Methods One class ( N = 24) one comparison 26) were examined study explore those effects. Statistical Actor-Oriented Models Exponential Random Graph used investigate whether there are differences between regarding changes over time parameters; co-evolution during lessons breaks attendant relatedness friendships exists; students same gender or place residence interact particularly (homophily). Results Besides inconsistent parameters, no co-evolutional associations could be determined, but grouping was evident EOtC. Both classes showed pronounced homophily, which case contributes fragmentation network time. Discussion The observed due previously tendencies exclusion result high degree freedom choices. It therefore seems essential that future not only quality design instruments should included interpretation – rather, underlying methodological-didactic concept also evaluated detail. At least Germany, it still for developing holistic concepts regards order maximize return primarily organizational investment implementing
