Abstract This study aims to enhance the industrial employability of PhD graduates through development HIRES-PhD framework, an abbreviation High Impact Research and Employability Skills for PhD. It identifies categorizes essential transversal skills. Using a systematic literature review thematic analysis, we screened 828 papers selected 39 relevant studies compile database 236 These skills were organized into 16 categories further distilled four overarching themes. The Framework is compared with traditional models like DOTS, USEM, MCPHE, as well recent European initiatives such DocTalent4EU OUTDOC. comparison highlights framework’s unique focus on doctoral training employability, unlike which often target broader educational contexts. Our findings emphasize importance holistic approach training, tailored specifically needs graduates. serves comprehensive, data-driven tool designing programmes that align industry demands, ensuring effective in enhancing employability.
