Objectives To assess the association between depression and suicide attempt (SA) by age region. Design Cross-sectional study. Setting First Affiliated Hospital of Wannan Medical College from January 2021 to 2022. Participants Hospitalised patients. Primary outcome measures SA was primary data on obtained electronic medical records hospitalised Methods analysis In this study, inpatients 2022 were extracted record system using convenience sampling method. According exclusion criteria, 7593 eligible research subjects obtained. Logistic regression used SA, combining Subgroup analyses carried out relationship age, region in depressed patients, after excluding non-depressed inspect interaction Finally, further comparisons disparities patterns among different groups regional made. Results Among patients (3630 males), 655 (8.6%) with observed. We found that significantly associated (all p<0.05). Specifically, juveniles adults had a higher risk compared adults, ORs (95% CIs) 2.62 (1.59 4.30) 1.67 (1.30 2.13), respectively. Furthermore, rural individuals depression, urban without participants 1.60 (1.22 2.12), 1.29 (1.04 1.61) 2.53 (1.83 3.49), subgroup analyses, we strongly (OR 2.84, 95% CI 1.19 6.76, p=0.018) 1.67, 1.15 2.40, p=0.006). Notably, predominant methods utilisation sleeping pills or antidepressants. Conclusion Our study are at especially individuals. This study aims to understand if symptoms mediate relationship quality suicide whether interaction on additive. A total of 1182 were recruited, assessed using questionnaires. Univariate analysis, logistic regression linear models, Sobel test performed. The results showed that, students, poor was positively associated with ideation, mediated through symptoms. Moreover, there significant additive ideation. These findings suggest in process preventing treating disorders, we should focus evaluation intervention adopt multidisciplinary team interventions for disorders depression.

This study was intended to investigate the correlation between depression and suicidal ideation among Chinese college students during COVID-19 pandemic potential mediating roles of chronotype sleep quality in this relationship . A sample 4,768 selected from four institutions Anhui Province, China, conducted (November December 2020) using a stratified, cluster, multi-stage sampling method. used two-item Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-2) assess depressive symptoms, Morningness-Eveningness 19 (MEQ-19) determine individual chronotypes (i.e., morning or evening preference), Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) evaluate quality. Participants were asked about ideation. MPLUS 8.3 software analyze effect on During pandemic, prevalence 5.4%. Depression inversely correlated with (beta = − 0.346, P < 0.01) positively 0.846, 0.001), indicating that experiencing symptoms more likely have later poor 0.019, 0.05) 0.066, predicted emerged as direct significant risk factor for (effect value 0.535, 95% confidence interval: 0.449 ~ 0.622). Chronotype found effects ideation; however, chain-mediating not statistically significant. Our findings suggest can precipitate through its influence These compelling highlight urgency early intervention strategies mitigate thoughts, particularly exhibiting who experience disrupted patterns
