Nearly all dinosaur egg or oospecies occurrences from the Upper Cretaceous of France have been attributed to titanosaur dinosaurs. Here, we describe first occurrence probable hadrosauroid eggshells France, which assign a new oospecies, Paraspheroolithus porcarboris oosp. nov. (oofamily: Spheroolithidae), upper 'Argiles et Grès à Reptiles' Formation (upper Maastrichtian) Aix-en-Provence. differs other spheroolithid in following combination characteristics: prolatospherulitic morphotype, prolatocanaliculate pore system, prominent anastomosing ornamentation, medium eggshell thickness, less defined horizontal accretion lines and high density. The affinity places ootaxon outside oofamilies ascribed titanosaurs (i.e. Megaloolithidae Fusioolithidae), thus its discovery expands parataxonomic diversity this region formation. We suggest taxonomic Spheroolithidae is somewhat broader than Hadrosauroidea, potentially encompassing Ornithopoda. However, remains most plausible for based on absence ornithopod late Maastrichtian deposits Ibero-Armorican Island.
