In 2022, the National Institute of Health and Care Excellence (NICE) introduced “patient choice” as a major new principle in guideline “Depression adults: treatment management.” 2024, NICE launched decision aid” to provide practical support for this principle. We explore data on depression from United Kingdom's Service before after was published consider whether patient choice has been enabled by these developments. The types most commonly delivered prior (Guided Self-Help books, Counseling Depression, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, antidepressant prescriptions) are now more common than before. This suggests that inclusion guidelines not yet translated into patients making wider range choices. how came be prioritized over experience development process; aid is likely shared making; there may underlying ideological barriers which mean straightforward emphasis would logical route enhancing choice.
