Flashbulb memories (FBM) refer to the vivid and detailed retrieval of reception context a highly salient event. We examined FBMs personal for one college's sudden transition remote learning due COVID-19. explored whether announcement campus' closure resulted in FBMs, how respondents felt about decision, impacts decision. Employing two-wave longitudinal survey conducted March May 2020, participants responded questions regarding control memory (an event from same week chosen by participants). Participant reports suggested they did form were more consistent over time than memories. Confidence not differ across types. Additionally, we observed an initial strong positive response decision close campus - sentiment that intensified time. Lastly, participants' emotional responses transitioned negative feelings first wave testing neutral second. This work offers unique exploration within broader global health crisis intruded into daily life, effectively merging typically public distant nature flashbulb events with first-hand, experience.
