The current study investigates which motivations to reduce food waste influence respondents’ likelihood accurately self-assess quantities. Some studies suggest that prevent household behaviors, but others highlight routine and daily life often represent an obstacle acting consistently. This study addresses the persistence of patriarchal structures and reproduction traditional gender roles in rural settings. Purpose Sustainability is viewed as an encompassing perspective, endorsed by the international policy context, driven UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We aim to examine how women entrepreneurs transform capitals pursue sustainability, and generate insights for sustainability actions through tourism entrepreneurship. Design/methodology/approach Applying qualitative approach, we have generated empirical evidence drawing on 37 interviews carried out in Turkey, whereby boundaries between traditional patriarchal forces progressive movements gender relations are blurred.
