Abstract To investigate extracellular vesicles (EVs), biomarkers for predicting lymph node invasion (LNI) in patients with high-risk prostate cancer (HRPCa), plasma, and/or urine samples were prospectively collected from 45 (PCa) and five benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Small RNA sequencing was performed to identify miRNAs the EVs. All PCa underwent radical prostatectomy extended pelvic dissection. Differentially expressed identified without pathologically-verified LNI. The candidate validated low-risk (LRPCa) BPH. Four miRNA species (e.g., miR-126-3p) three miR-27a-3p) more abundant urinary plasma EVs, respectively, of PCa. None these shared between miR-126-3p significantly HR LNI than those ( P = 0.018). EVs HRPCa LRPCa 0.017) BPH 0.011). In conclusion, EVs-derived may serve as a good biomarker HRPCa.

Serum is one of the most commonly used biofluids for biomarker exploration. Some studies examine serum directly, while others focus on specific components like small extracellular vesicles (sEVs), which are lipid-bilayer encapsulated particles carrying a variety molecular cargos. However, diagnostic value sEVs versus sEVs-depleted fractions (EV-free serum) early cancer detection unclear. In study, size exclusion chromatography (SEC) employed to separate from prostate (PCa) suspects into sEVs-enriched (EV) and EV-free serum. Metabolic fingerprints obtained using ferric nanoparticle-assisted laser ablation/ionization mass spectroscopy (FeNPALDI-MS), revealing heterogeneity in metabolic composition. Eleven key metabolites identified EV two that differentiate PCa benign prostatic hyperplasia. The showed higher patients with an area under curve (AUC) 0.76, p < 0.05 improved efficacy when combined prostate-specific antigen (PSA, AUC = 0.85).

Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is a highly aggressive form of with poor prognosis and high mortality. The chemotherapeutic regimen remains the predominant treatment modality for TNBC in current clinical practice. However, chemotherapy resistance significantly complicates development an effective regimen. Furthermore, immunosuppressive microenvironment contributes to enhanced tumour aggressiveness. Consequently, understanding its mechanisms progression finding therapeutic interventions crucial. Recent evidence has identified extracellular vesicles (EVs) as key mediators cell-to-cell communication immune regulation. In view remarkable ability EVs transfer active molecules, such proteins nucleic acids, from parental recipient cells, they are regarded promising biomarker novel drug delivery system. this review, we provide overview how derived cells play role regulating progression. We also discuss potential regulation their application strategies markers TNBC. knowledge gained studying EV-mediated could lead targeted therapies improve patient outcomes.

Small extracellular vesicles have gained attention in neuroscience due to their role cell-to-cell communication and potential diagnostic therapeutic applications. Despite progress the field, there remains a gap our understanding of composition function with regards brain tumours. Previous studies primarily evaluated obtained from patient fluids or cell culture medium, rather than directly tumour tissue. Here we successfully isolated small surgical tissue biopsies glioblastomas meningiomas, marking, marking first report situ vesicle isolation The protein content was characterized using tandem mass spectrometric proteomics, revealing proteins exclusively detected enriched relative While study confirmed previously identified glioblastoma meningioma various sources, it also novel pathways associated these types. This underscores benefit analysing derived for insights into biology highlights need further research comparing types grades
