ABSTRACT This study investigates the enhancement of biodegradable gelatin films through incorporation glycerol as a plasticizer, and citric acid zinc oxide cross‐linkers. The results showed notable improvements in various properties, including solubility, swelling behavior, thickness, pH, biodegradability, both mechanical thermal characteristics. demonstrated complete water solubility UV–visible light absorbance 280–480 nm range. Soil burial tests indicated gradual weight loss over 15 days, leading to degradation. Structural analyses via FTIR TGA confirmed films' integrity stability. Additionally, highlighted effectiveness these modified adsorbing copper (II) ions from acidic solutions, showcasing their potential for environmental applications like heavy metal remediation. These findings emphasize tailored additive combinations produce with enhanced properties functionality.

Cherries, as high-value horticultural products, have long faced preservation challenges due to their perishable nature and limited postharvest longevity. During storage transportation, these stone fruits are particularly susceptible quality deterioration pathological decay, significantly impacting commercial viability consumer acceptance. Modified atmosphere (MAP) technology has emerged the predominant method for cherry storage, recognized its operational safety, environmental controllability, technical reliability. This review systematically examines physiological degradation mechanisms of cherries during identifies critical factors influencing decay patterns, synthesizes recent advancements in MAP applications. The analysis encompasses technological principles efficacy evaluations atmospheric modification, with particular emphasis on how regulated temperature, humidity, gas composition parameters affect bioactive compound retention, organoleptic properties, overall eating quality—crucial enhancing satisfaction market value. Furthermore, this paper critically addresses current limitations, including implementation costs, complexity, sustainability concerns. Finally, it proposes innovative optimization strategies outlines future development trajectories advance refinement promote sustainable innovation terms methodologies.
