Population ageing comes with multifaceted challenges that stretch beyond health-related advancements and demographic shifts. Older adults are confronted by significant healthcare obstacles, requiring special needs, remarkably in their home environment. The present study draws upon Smart Home Automation technology to develop an Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) prototype aimed at enhancing daily living activities, health monitoring independence for older adults, thereby improving overall quality of life. Employing the Design Science Research (DSR) method research combined Double Diamond process design, this intends create evaluate a solution particularly tailored needs furthering more safe dignified experience.

Interaction and Design Barriers for Older Adults in Food Delivery Apps: A Usability Study DOI

This study aims to evaluate the usability of two Food Delivery Apps (FDAs) available in market with a sample older adults. We performed basic tasks required purchase groceries 12 participants (Mage = 70.92, SD 4.56). Results showed that interaction experience both apps was similar. Most could perform tasks, but not efficiently. Tasks took longest mean time were adding first product cart and scheduling delivery service. found 22 interface barriers for FDA1 23 FDA2. The most frequent errors caused by lack clear roadmap guide process, unclear feedback when products, information overload, difficulty distinguishing interactive buttons from text/icons mandatory actions optional ones. System Usability Scale results below suggested cut-off point 68. provide recommendations help design accessible FDAs adults make them easier use everyone.
