The purpose of this dissertation was to advance our knowledge on the effectiveness youth interventions that utilize social network. To end, we had three aims: 1) provide insight into care programs network; 2) zoom in one program specifically, which is developed for with mental health needs multi-problem families (i.e., InConnection); and 3) better understand links between pandemic-related stress, informal formal support families. 1. How effective are activate network? An overview study different intervention types showed network not more than engaged. However, under certain circumstances, were effective. For example, decide themselves who engage from their network, only person involved, problems, did have significant effects. 2. InConnection families? an outpatient, systemic treatment families, a multidisciplinary team professionals collaborates mentor according youth-initiated mentoring (YIM) approach. Interviews almost all participants positive about collaboration YIM. match parents what mentors thought they could offer turned out be good most cases. some effects compared as usual, namely decrease emotional behavioral problems increase parenting behavior parents' perspective. No differences found other outcome measures, including well-being resilience. 3. Does protect against during Covid-19 pandemic? Due measures taken pandemic, fewer opportunities receive while risk increased, especially among vulnerable groups. Results pandemic experienced stressful by Youth stress higher if reported receiving little or no (therapist support). Parents minimally affected suggesting strength flexibility. and/or networks thus showing importance providing help people situations such pandemic. These findings illustrate despite complex challenges (such families) experience, characteristics YIM general specifically even supporting reducing problems.
