The limited availability of mobility data makes it challenging to model demand, especially its spatiotemporal variations. Simultaneously, traditional transport modeling tools often rely on less disaggregated approaches, leading gaps in understanding. To overcome these limitations, this study introduces the spectral clustering method uncover major demand patterns considering various modes. It focuses Athens, Greece, and utilizes a set 1347 reported trips. reveals six distinct trip clusters. first group, “an evening stroll nearby”, captures short distance tours typically undertaken by walking. second cluster, “my work is nearby but I use my car” highlights significant trend where individuals with commutes, than 6 km, predominantly private cars. third “commuting metro”, features long-distance trips primarily for work. fourth cluster work-related cars, favored active residents high income. fifth pattern, “trips young people”, involves midnight recreational moderate-distance morning education, an increased usage public transport. sixth concerns activities. findings indicate that cluster’s reliance cars problematic. Reducing should be priority policymakers.
