Purpose
This
study
investigates
trends
in
environmental
leadership
research
the
MENA
region
from
2003
to
2023,
highlighting
region’s
unique
challenges
and
increasing
importance
of
sustainability
governance.
Design/methodology/approach
A
systematic
review
140
articles
was
conducted
using
VOSviewer
Biblioshiny
identify
key
theoretical
landscapes,

contextual
factors.
The
findings
are
analysed
within
PEST
framework
explore
influence
political,
economic,
social
technological
dimensions
on
leadership.
Findings
Research
activity
has
significantly
increased
post-2012,
driven
by
global
initiatives
regional
policies
such
as
Saudi
Arabia’s
Vision
2030.
Key
themes
include
governance,
corporate
responsibility
application
ISO
14001
standards,
reflecting
strategic
priorities
amidst
socio-political
economic
complexities.
Originality/value
