Collaborative
writing
(CW)
is
a
pedagogical
practice
that
requires
active
engagement
from
all
participants
to
create
more
L2
learning
opportunities,
which
help
develop
metacognitive
awareness
and
autonomy.
In
self-regulated
research,
learners
apply
various
regulated
(RL)
strategies
monitor
their
individual
process
within
task.
These
same
RL
can
be
applied
the
co-regulatory
processes
of
CW,
but
regulate
themselves,
partners
and/or
social
group
at
different
co-construction
stages
(Hadwin
&
Miller,
2017).
While
current
CW
research
highlights
development
benefits,
less
known
about
how
pairs
with
collaborative
orientations
use
during
processes.
To
fill
this
gap,
study
aims
identify
students
maintain
patterns
interaction.
Through
Sociocultural
Theory
perspective,
transcribed
audio
recordings
six
international
postgraduate
two
activities
were
examined
using
languaging
episodes
as
basic
unit
analysis
before
coding
each
episode
for
three
regulatory
agents.
The
findings
revealed
used
varied
when
addressing
local
global
issues
patterns.
