Given the number of identified risks associated with influencer sharenting, momfluencers are increasingly adopting a more mindful approach to sharing information about their children online. Prior qualitative research suggests that followers respond positively towards these sharenting practices, especially when motives communicated. However, there is lack experimental exploration into this finding and its potential explanations. Therefore, drawing upon theoretical insights regarding self-disclosure self-determination theory, study 176 mothers seeks investigate impact providing an explanation proposing need for relatedness empathy as mediators. The findings reveal disclose motives, significantly enhances follower engagement, admiration, evaluation momfluencer. For parents, influencer marketing has become a primary profession and income source. Parents share highly personal images of their underage children.
