Justice is integral in transformative tourism approaches that call for a complete restructuring of the travel and sector worldwide. Rural tourism is perceived as an escape from noisy urban settings to tranquil rural environments improve tourist well-being. However, the dynamics of how tourists engage with and benefit soundscapes, particularly at night when visual stimuli diminish auditory experiences become more pronounced, remain underexplored. This article investigates effects soundscapes on well-being throughout different periods day. Using a mixed-methods approach, this study reveals that tourists' therapeutic are relational contextual. Therapeutic primarily experienced during nighttime, facilitated by absence distractions man-made sounds presence familiar natural sounds, alongside prevailing sense safety in silence darkness. Nevertheless, majority one-day visitors thus largely excluded these soundscape experiences, which overshadowed attractions intrusion sounds. The findings advance theory sensescapes revealing interplay between senses vision hearing shaping perceptions destinations. also offers practical implications for enhancing appeal destinations improving across diverse spatio-temporal contexts.
