Abstract The role of dopamine in the pathophysiology gambling disorder (GD) remains incompletely understood, with disparate research findings concerning presynaptic and postsynaptic structures dopaminergic synthesis. aim this study was to investigate potential correlations between striatal transporter (DAT) lateralization asymmetry index, as assessed by 123 I-FP-CIT SPECT, temperamental traits, measured Cloninger’s Temperament Character Inventory (TCI), GD subjects. Significant associations were found DAT binding asymmetries caudate putamen dimensions harm avoidance novelty seeking. Specifically, high seeking scores correlated increased left relative right, whereas higher corresponded right left. These observations potentially imply that expression basal ganglia could be an outcome hemispheric emotional processing behavioural guidance. In summary, our provides evidence supporting relationship asymmetries, GD. Future investigations directed towards examining receptors gain a more comprehensive understanding dopamine's influence within circuit disordered gambling. If confirmed larger cohorts, these have substantial implications for tailoring individualized neuromodulation therapies treatment addictions.
