Environmental quality is a crucial topic both for developed and developing countries. In particular, along with globalization, countries strive to catch up However, the globalization process in may also cause environmental effects. Hence, current paper aims analyze impact of economic technological development, household consumption on ecological footprint (EF) Visegrad countries, Czechia, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia over period 1996-2021 through controlling growth renewable energy consumption. order achieve this aim, we perform Driscoll & Kraay, panel corrected standard errors (PCSE), feasible generalized least squares (FGLS) estimators that take into consider cross-sectional dependence (CSD). The empirical findings reveal reduce EF, whereas development fosters degradation by increasing EF. Moreover, has negative effect while contributes EF V4 Consequently, can help policymakers develop new policies combating considering role improvement.

High carbon sectors (agriculture, industry, construction, and transportation) contribute nearly 85% of emissions, highlighting the urgent need for transitioning towards cleaner energy structures in these sectors. This study utilizes undesirable SBM model to assess TFEE (total factor efficiency) across total sector high It decomposes from an structural perspective into coal, oil, natural gas, electric heat efficiencies. Using a variance-like decomposition model, it analyzes at two levels examine how changes specific categories affect TFEE. From 2010 2021, China's increased 0.542 0.676, with coal identified as critical factors limiting improvements. Among four sectors, construction exhibited significant increase TFEE, agriculture showed steep rise, industry demonstrated U-shaped trend turning point 2015, transportation experienced slight decline. exhibits descending order among ranking highest, followed by transportation. Similarly, efficiencies types show hierarchical structure, oil being most efficient, heat, coal. Construction dominates sectoral level, contributing 58.87%, while contributes over 30% category level. The results each province further indicate that both structure significantly impact this influence also regional heterogeneity.

Forests serve as the lungs of our planet, yet their mismanagement causes environmental problems and threatens global sustainability. Global forest footprints continue to increase, requiring studies investigate provide solutions. This study aims establish how rents government effectiveness shape in China. Specifically, it assesses impact (FRs), fossil fuel consumption (FFC), foreign direct investment (FDI), economic growth (GDP), population (POP), ecological (EFFs) while considering moderating role (GEFF). used quantile regression, ordinary least squares, Granger causality tests for a comparative analysis. found that significantly increase footprints, but diminishes at higher quantities, an indication policies can mitigate adverse effects. Moreover, GEFF plays crucial reducing EFFs across all quantiles, signifying relevance effective governance achieving Again, FFC FDI contribute sustainability, exacerbates degradation, particularly quantiles. The test further indicates drive changes, exerts bidirectional influence on These findings critical insights policymakers emphasize need robust governance, sustainable management, eco-friendly strategies.

Purpose The notion of efficiency in business operations generally focuses on both operational and ecological impacts. Individual assessments are critical considering the mutual dependence these Traditional evaluative techniques often produce erratic results when undesirable outputs (UOs), such as emissions pollutants, directly included to evaluate efficiency. To provide a comprehensive assessment performance efficiency, this study applies proposed framework seafood pre-processing centres India. Design/methodology/approach A comprising life cycle (LCA) data envelopment analysis (DEA) is developed applied assess inclusion UOs generated, four standalone integrative models identified from literature examined, using case addressed study. Findings Analysis reveals (1) average carbon footprint pre-processed seafood. (2) Better slack-based measure model (SBM) with UO nonlinear approach compared other models. (3) Influence electricity consumption operation costs scores, determined through sensitivity analysis. Research limitations/implications Outcomes highlight significant improvements reductions greenhouse gas emissions. outcomes need for enhanced waste management, energy cold chain infrastructure. also contribute sustainability development goals (SDG) emphasizing adequate policies.
